Yes, Pat just got a teaching gig with a man who is very wealthy. His business is in auto parts supply. Patrick met with the man via a colleague from International House and they found they had a ton in common. They arranged a fee of $20 an hour, which is twice the going rate for conversational exchange with a native speaker.
So, the man just asked Patrick if it was okay with Pat if they could meet for English language lessons for 1 hour a week on Friday nights. BUT the catch is that the man wants to meet him at his favorite bar...Oh no! Whatever you do don't throw me in that briar patch! ;-)
Pat will now make $20 an hour for drinking and bullshitting in a bar on Friday nights! It's his dream job! His "gift of the gab" has finally paid off. He is now seeking to extend his client base to include 10-15 young, rich, cool people for paid conversation over a pint.
